I LOVE California. It's totally the bomb. I lived there for 22 years (until Sept 2004) intend to move back one day (soon I hope). I'm currently in Texas and don't want to miss a thing -- so all you Californians Blog Away!

Letters To My Daughter
I stumbled on your blog and just love sharing the life experience with you and your daughter/family. What a wonderful thing to do. No doubt, she will cherish every thought in the coming years. I wrote journals to my own daughter many years ago. She is now 28 years old and has given me two granddaughters and a grandson. As a result, I've taken to scrapbooking more then journals. Perhaps I was a teensy bit hasty in that aspect. Your Letters to My Daughter are an inspiration.
I Need a New Face

Shenna, will you put this face in my profile? The one that is in there now is too pixelated and I don't have the time to fuss with figuring out how to get it in my profile? Would ya', could ya', huh, huh? Pretty please with sugar on top?
Look at the crow's feet on this old lady, hey? Ahh, you'll always be a punk baby sister! Love ya' loads though. All my love, Your big sis "Sudabell"
Haaapppy Birthday to You!

Joe da' Man recently turned 16. He did a face plant in the cake "cuz' it's my cake, my birthday, and I wanna' do it." My baby boy...ready to drive! I can't even remember 16. I think, and think, and strain and squeeze my eyes shut just try to remember what I did at 16. Blank. Static. Nothing. Frrrp. My memory sucks.
Joe da' Man was riding dirt bikes this day. He wanted an mp3 player or an ipod...but got a bug (vw) and a bike instead. Had to go for the practical, since he needed something to ride to school until he gets his license and can drive the bug (which he plans to "pimp out" into a dune buggy). Joe da' Man is a funny guy. I love him so much! Let's all hear a Happy Birthday for JJB!
The Bridge
![](http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/719/1617/320/Texas%20Pics%20Sept-Oct%202005%20048.jpg)
We went on a 26 mile bike ride recently, (White Rock Lake trail in Dallas) and stopped on a bridge. These are my two boys Joe da' Man and B.M.C. Hot and sweaty, but happy because they're resting on the bridge and spied a whole bunch of really big catfish in the stream below. They're thinking about bringing back their poles and doing a little angling. I never saw the point. It's a boring sport. I don't like fish (and they don't eat them either, B.M.C. does sometimes). But, it's "hecka' savage" in their lingo to snag one on the line.

Joe 'da Man and his team have won the last 5 games by smoking the competition. I'm talkin' leavin' them crying in the dust. 36 to zip, 40 something to zip, you get the picture. They only lost 2 of 7 games...and I think one of them was pre-season so it doesn't count. For a small guy (a champion wrestler) he's on the line plowing them down on defense! He took a helmet to the forearm here and was hurting, but not as bad as the other team! They went home crying to Mama cuz' they couldn't make a touchdown!

Collin Jacob
![](http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/719/1617/400/P1010009_0009.jpg)
Collin is 2 years old, quite vocal and very smart. He enjoys race cars, spider man, and shadowing his big sisters 24 hours a day.
He also like the "silky tags" on panties or pjs or sweatshirts...so he goes in his sisters' drawers and takes out their clothes with the silky tags on them so he can play with them during naptime.

Faith Lynn

Faith is Grace's twin, which obviously makes her 5 as well. She likes to climb, run, do gymnastics and play dress up or watch videos with her sister. She'd rather write or draw then read, but she is also the apple of Grandma's eye!

No One Blogs Me Back
Shenna, I don't post much because I think my blogs are rather boring. No one ever posts me back (except family). I think I need to make my life a little less dull and more exciting. Like the Photo-A-Day guy. He does interesting things and takes pictures of them to post every day.

Lodged
Hey everyone! Shenna here. Thought I'd help Suz out and write a post for her, since she never does it herself! See Sue, this is how you do it!
Anyone have any interesting stories about strange things being swallowed? Sue does. Her 5 year old (are they 5 now?) granddaughter swallowed some money. When mommy was tucking her in to bed, she said "My throat hurts, and I have to burp all the time". She then proceeded to tell mommy how she swallowed some monies earlier. She had a bunch of change in her mouth, and one of them went down. Mommy laid some change on the table and asked her to point to which one, and she pointed to a penny. They decided to go to the walk-in clinic where they proceeded to take an xray. Turns out she had a quarter lodged in her esophagus! They had to put the poor girl under and go in with a scope to retrieve it! Lesson learned, no money in the mouth!
I remember when my neice (the mommy in the above story) got a tart n tiny stuck in her nose! I think she was trying to sniff them or something, and inhaled it. Talk about sting! I can't remember how they got it out. Help me out here Sue.
Anyone else have any interesting "Lodged" stories?
By the way, Faith is doing fine now, to the best of my knowledge.

JUST BECAUSE
![](http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/719/1617/400/John%27s%20Flowers%200061.jpg)
My sister said her husband wrote " I Love You" in gel or something on the windshield of her car so that it could still be read through the morning fog.
I used to live post-its (cut in little heart shapes) with messages in my husband's pocket, daytimer, on the dash...where ever.
What are some of the things you've done or your honey has done for you that say "I LOVE YOU"? What would you like to have done (or do)?

I Got Flowers!
My husband sent a dozen roses to me today...for no special reason. They are gorgeous, soft pink, peach and yellow. He said he hopes they make me as happy as I make him. Well he just won about a year of special attention!

Lingo
What's your favorite lingo style? I have to say that it brings back good memories whenever I talk to my sister and family in the midwest. The way they say their vowels and certain little phrases. Like, "We're having a cookout" instead of a barbeque OR "I'm getting a drink from the bubbler" instead of a water fountain. "Turn left right here" instead of turn left now. Rather then say, "Excuse me" when you'd like someone to let you pass in the grocery isle they say "beep beep"! "Let's go by Grandma's house" when they actually mean let's go to Grandma's house for a visit. And then there is "Don'tcha know" and "hey?" or "ainna?" to indicate agreement.
Then, there's the new southern lingo style. Well, not entirely new to me as my husband and I have been together over 8 years. But things like "I'm fixin' to" when you are preparing to do something. "Ya'll and all ya' alls" translated the only way I know into "you guys" (which is both genders) or "everyone here" or "all the folks you know." And "Over yonder" and "There's you a purple car" for there's a purple car like one of your favorite's.
My stepson's Mom is in England now and will be getting married in October. She's picked up phrases like "ducky" a term of endearment OR "love" when speaking to someone you love. "Bloody stupid" for very stupid and a few others Brandon has mentioned.
Come on blog world. Share your insight!

What are all the things you driven?
What are all the things you've driven (not been a passenger, driven)? I've driven tricycles, bicycles, go-carts, sleds, cars, dirt bikes, atv (all terrain vehicle), atc (all terrain cycle), trucks, tractor, riding lawnmower and a forklift.
